Chateau Viane- 08/2018
The Castle of Blondel de Beauregard is an 18th century castle with its own domain in Viane.
The castle is mentioned for the first time in 1545. No remains have been preserved of this original castle and its chapel. The current castle with its own domain can be seen for the first time on a plan from 1762. From the middle of the 18th century the estate came into the hands of the barons Partz Devenish, who is seen as the builder of the castle. The barons of Blondel de Beauregard became the owners of the domain through marriage, who continued to live in it until 1919. During the 19th century, they made various adjustments to the castle and had some buildings added, such as the orangery that is currently used as a banquet hall. .
In 1919, a farmer, Jan Poelaert, bought the castle with its own domain and rented it as a farm. During the Second World War, the building served as a temporary residence for soldiers. A few years after the war it got its current destination of recreational domain with fishpond, camping, restaurant and banquet halls. Today, the domain is still owned by a member of the Poelaert family. The castle itself has a different owner and has been empty for several years.
In the summer of 2015 a small fire took place in the castle. Although a room completely burned down, the damage to the building was limited.

maison viron / Villa Madeleine Michet
2017
Rimbauer_photography copyright / Build : 1919 / Abandonned : 1980 Belgium
